Forty five volunteers from HCC joined in this mission activity and for a period of stay One Hundred Seventy One (171) souls came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. It was Pastor Roy Madrideo, our missionary pastor who invited the team in Bohol.

It was also a time to minister other believers because after the DVBS graduation, HCC MOM was able to minister DAUIS BAPTIST CHURCH by having a Puppet Show before the children who attended the Children's camp.

It is our opportunity to extend our deepest thanks to all who supported this mission trip. There are about more than 200 people mostly high school students from Cristobal S. Conducto MNHS in Rizal who watched the concert. In an interview, Luke Hagberg, spokeman and member of the band said they used “Impact Night” as the title of the concert because the main objective of the members of the band is to have a good impact to the people and in the community through Christian Music. He added that DUNSMEAR BAND has just organized only a year ago. The group is composed of five (5) members who are in 12th grade in Faith Academy namely: Jay Eyestone: vocalist, guitarist; Nathan Santos: backup guitarist; Ben Chanco: bass guitar; Luke Hagberg: drums and Nate Eyestone: Sound Tech.

When asked why they chose Rizal as a venue of their concert, Luke made mentioned that they were just having their Summer Camp at Rizal Re-Creation Center and they just wanted to be of the Lord’s service during the weekend so they talked to Rev. Joe C. Mauk, HCC Senior Pastor if they could be allowed to have their concert at HCC. He also added that Ptr. Mauk gladly welcomed their proposal. DUNSMEAR BAND formally started with HCC Music Team who sung the preliminary songs. Kris Luwi Isleta and Shirley Formales, Bible Club leaders hosted the program. While the band members were on their break, Ivan Zarzua, another HCC Bible Club leader shared the Word of God.

HCC Mission Sunday

For the HCC family June 28, 2009 became a Mission Sunday. This is what Rev. Joseph C. Mauk, HCC Senior Pastor statement before he introduced the guest speaker on that particular Sunday. He added that we did not plan for it but it happened because of the divine intervention of the God Almighty.

The reason why this Sunday became a mission Sunday because Bro. Bong Visey of Campus Crusade For Christ and an HCC supported missionary visited and gave the update about his ministry. Aside from his verbal reports, he also conducted a slide presentation concerning their ministry. He also reported the activities of student leaders in every campus in Metro Manila entitled “The First Six Weeks of Classes”. Students leaders that are involved in this ministry are as follows: Student Leaders from University of Santo Tomas (UST) that conducted kicked-off with prayer and fasting, and team building activity for UST-CCC; Student Leaders in Philippine Christian University (PCU) where they assisted in the University Freshmen Orientation as ushers and “skitters”; In Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), they served as tour guides for the freshmen; Student Leaders in Rizal Technological University (RTU) offered tutorial sessions; Student Leaders in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLM) where they initiated the preparation of a simple illustration to help them initiate conversations. According to Bro. Bong Visey, God is moving in and through the lives of these young leaders. He is very thankful for the privilege of coaching them. He also expressed his thanks to HCC family for their faithful partnership. Bro. Visey visited HCC with his father Felix Visey. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n4p1sAu3H48/SlQ0ud1GDSI/AAAAAAAAAHY/ik6YAGdACsE/s200/Roland%27s+Despidida+045.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355963829736312098" />
Another exciting news on that Sunday was the ministry update sent in by HCC supported Missionary in Indonesia, Ucok and Elsa which was read by Bro. Gani. In their report, Ucok and Elsa shared the goodness of the Lord in their mission trip in West Kalimantan. According to the report, the mission trip was exciting in spite of some hardships, long distance (8km) walk and rain showers in the middle of the jungle. They added that “to hear them pray repenting and inviting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior was indeed very encouraging”. Though not really familiar with Bahasa, Resil and Reuben who have just arrived from the Philippines eagerly shared the gospel. Reuben known for being a football game expert, used the game in order to get the attention of the people, and from this game 13 of them professed to receive Jesus. Christ as their Savior. A total of 193 people were saved according to the report. To God be the glory!

Truly it was an exciting Sunday because it was Ptr. Godfrey P. Santonil of Mindanao Christ’s Gospel Fellowship in Cagayan de Oro City was the one who gave the message. According to Rev. Joseph C. Mauk, he chose Ptr. Godfrey to speak on mission because according to him Ptr. Godfrey was an expert in church planting which he proved in his testimony during the luncheon fellowship at RRC. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n4p1sAu3H48/SlQ1oUbh07I/AAAAAAAAAHg/UjzTHi6zWbM/s200/Roland%27s+Despidida+051.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355964823645574066" />
In his message, Ptr. Godfrey made mention that missionary work implies four things such as, cooperation on the part of the members of the sending church, continuation where the support must be continuous, communion with the Lord in prayers, and communication wherein the members are responsible to have a close communication with the missionary.

At the end of the service, Ptr. Roland Maranan was commissioned to work as a pastor in one of the HCC supported churches in Ranzo, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro. The commissioning service was initiated by Rev. Joseph C. During the celebration some members of the club testified before the congregation how the club help them in their spiritual lives. They added that the Word of God molded them into a person that God want them to be. They learned how to study the books of the Bible, how to share the gospel, how to sing for the Lord, and even experience of going to places like Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro, Bato Catanduanes just to reach people who are lost in Christ. Also, some of them tesified that they feel great once an individual decided to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

At present, the 2:7 Club  meets every other saturday at 5:00 0' clock in the morning at Hillside Christian Church. The  counselors gladly reported about the  positive response  of the people. <img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_n4p1sAu3H48/SkR3btuzcyI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/rqEGvi81eIQ/s200/2nd+Quarterly++Evangelism+Pics+128.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351533575239070498" /><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n4p1sAu3H48/SkR4Tfc_XbI/AAAAAAAAAGY/QTYzpTdyx-c/s200/2nd+Quarterly++Evangelism+Pics+142.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351534533478931890" /><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n4p1sAu3H48/SkR49-ZVHoI/AAAAAAAAAGg/PnTxF4DNqaw/s200/2nd+Quarterly++Evangelism+Pics+143.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351535263339585154" /> <img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_n4p1sAu3H48/SkR7G9Wjq-I/AAAAAAAAAGw/jrM_8Sk4sEc/s200/2nd+Quarterly++Evangelism+Pics+144.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351537616701598690" />

When the awarding ceremony was conducted, TODA Chairman Macky Corcega expressed his thanks to the Hillsiders for the support and cooperation they have shown during the tournament. On the other hand, Vice-Mayor and MTFRB Chairman Tony Aurelio commended the sportsmanship that every player had demonstrated during the tournament. He also expressed his thankfulness to the Hillside Christian Church for accommodating them especially in the holding of the awarding ceremony. He also promised the players of his 100% support in the next basketball tournament. Before the awards were conferred to the winning teams, Bro. Gani, the host of the program, stressed that the trophies that they would be receiving were only temporary things. Unlike the Eternal Gift that everyone had received. He also asked the guests to raise their hands to show that they have already responded to Jesus and accepted His invitation to accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior. Surprisingly, all the guests raised their hands.
When asked on what they can say, Herdie Lorico and Gilbert Pumar commented : “ we felt relieved just like a newly-born child”

This particular ministry would not be possible without the divine guidance of the Lord Jesus and warm support of the following: The Music Team, Ladies, Bible Clubbers, and other leaders of HCC. Overflowing joy have been seen in their faces as they gladly served the Lord. Arban Street Extension, Brgy. Pauli 1, Rizal, Laguna, Philippines

HCC Missions Outreach Ministry
By: Bro. Gani Visey

The Missions Trip in the province of Catanduanes was made possible through the guidance and divine intervention of the Lord God Almighty, prayers and financial support of the brethren. It is also made possible because of our ever supportive Pastor Joe Mauk and wife Mrs. Mauk. The HCC Missions Outreach Ministry is composed of 22 members coming from the Bible Club Reachout, 2:7 Club and Ladies Fellowship. Due to Typhoon Dante, the trip incurred one (1) day delay. The group reached Virac, Catanduanes about 4:40 in the afternoon of May 5, 2009, Tuesday. It was Pastor Pidz Valenzuela of Living Stone Baptist Church of Catanduanes and wife Ate Nene who welcomed the group.

After the snacks, the ladies of the group went to “saud” (the marketplace) to buy food for the dinner. On the other hand, Pastor Pidz, Ate Nene, Nes and Bro. Gani discussed and formulated the schedule of activities. As a result, the Bible Vacation School, House to House Evangelism, Puppet Show and Film Showing would be the activities to be conducted at Living Stone Baptist Church of Catanduanes in the Municipality of Bato, Catanduanes.

Bato is a 5th class municipality in the province of Catanduanes, Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 18,738 people in 3,497 households. Bato is politically subdivided into 27 barangays. Bato, the smallest of the eleven (11) municipalities of Catanduanes has a land area of 48.8 sq. km. or 4,880 ha. Bato is located at the southeastern portion of Catanduanes and is bounded on the north by the municipality of San Miguel; on the east by the greatest body of water, the Pacific Ocean; on the south by Cabugao Bay and on the west by Virac, the capital town of Catanduanes which is just 8 kilometers from Bato.

After the program planning, orientation meeting with the HCC VBS Teachers and LSBCC young people was conducted by Bro. Nes while Bro. Gani gave some announcements and details of the activities. Puppet practice followed after the meeting while some of the 2:7 club members went out for a swimming.

Day 1 (May 6, 2009), Wednesday

As early as 3:00 a.m. the ladies and other members of the 2:7 club prepared “Sopas” (soup) for the breakfast. The group left Moonwalk, Virac at exactly 6:30 a.m. to Bato, Catanduanes which is 8 kms. away. The group is provided with two (2) service vehicle by Ptr. Pidz.

About 8:00 a.m. when VBS formally started with 67 registrants. Pastor Pidz gave his opening and welcome remarks. Puppet Show was also conducted and Bro. Nes and Don hosted the program. On the other hand, the members of the 2:7 Club headed by Bro. Gani started their house to house evangelism with only few catches. On their way back to Virac, the vehicle driven by Pastor Pidz met some trouble where it lost its brake. However, the group reached the place when the motor automatically stopped in front of the house. To God be the glory! It was already 10:00 p.m. when the group returned at Moonwalk, Virac. Upon reaching the place, Bro. Gani prepared a letter request addressed to the Bato mayor requesting for a permit for the film showing on the following day.

Day 2 (May 7, 2009), Thursday

The VBS Teachers left the place ahead of the other group for the reason that the other vehicle would undergo repair. While waiting for the vehicle to be repaired, the 2:7 Club members made an evaluation concerning the evangelism conducted during the first day. It was observed that the group members experienced some discouragement due to the negative response of the people of Bato. Bro. Gani gave some words of encouragement and brought the matter in group prayer. When the second batch reached Bato, a good report was received. According to the report, after the counseling session the BVS students became attentive, responsive, cooperative, participative and alive. It was because Jesus Christ was already introduced and there was now a relationship to the Savior. 54 souls accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. To God be the glory!

Concerning the house to house evangelism, it was amazing! Although some responded negatively, God provided numbers of fish to catch. The discouragement felt by the members turned to excitement and overflowing joy because 37 souls came to know the Savior. However, the enemy was actively trying to prevent the furtherance of the ministry. The newly repaired vehicle driven by Pastor Pidz incurred tire blown out on their way to Bato. Praise God it happened just few meters away from the church.

In the afternoon, Pastor Pidz and Bro. Gani sought a Mayor’s Permit for the Film Showing. House to house invitation was made by team members. Again, the people responded negatively.

Puppet show started at 6:00 pm. Buboy Lachano and Yeye Vitangcol gave their testimonies. Don and Erwin did the Rope Trick and Sketch Board Presentation. A special number was rendered by all BVS students. Then Film Showing followed afterwards.

During the film showing members of the team commented that it would be difficult to have the counseling because people there are “come and go and demonstrated a feeling of disinterest”. Technical problems were also encountered. Moreover, there was a total black out in the area that prevented the people to leave the place. Aside from these problems probably it was God’s purpose to have a heavy rain so that the group could have the opportunity to share the Gospel. God is good and all things work together for good because 50 people got save during the film showing. The group reached the base about 10:00 in the evening for their dinner.

Day 3 (May 8, 2009), Friday

After finishing the lessons, BVS graduation immediately followed. Awards and Diploma or Certificate of Attendance were also awarded. It was about 3:00 p.m. when the group took their lunch. After some rest at Moonwalk, Virac, the group proceeded to Living Stone Baptist Church of Catanduanes in San Andres for a prayer meeting.

San Andres is a 4th class municipality in the province of Catanduanes. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 33,781 people in 6,059 households. San Andres is politically subdivided into 38 barangays. San Andres is 14 kms. away from Virac.

In spite of brown out in the area a warm fellowship was conducted with the members of the church including the members of the YWAM (Youth With a Mission). A short devotion was given by Bro. Gani with the title “We Must Speak the Truth Even if the People Responded Negatively for that is our Mandate; to preach the Gospel”. That evening also served as a closing ceremony where Pastor Pidz gave his message thanking all those who supported them in the ministry including the HCC. It is where the Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to HCC. It was 11:00 p.m. when the group reached Virac for their dinner.

Day 4 (May 9, 2009), Saturday

Saturday was a parting moment. But before it happened the group had an opportunity to roam around the town proper to buy some “pasalubong” (presents) and to see the beauty of the Virac. At 10:00 a.m. the group proceeded to Barangay Calatagan, Virac, where Emily’s sister resides. There the group had their lunch where they did enjoy a super delicious “humba”. The word “paalam” (goodbye) is indeed a hard word to utter. But the members of the team had to say this. And the people of Catanduanes tearfully say: “Goodbye, sana bumalik kayo” (Goodbye, hope you will come back).

In the recently concluded HCC Missions Outreach Ministry, 150 people came to know the Lord Jesus Christ. And the breakdown are as follows:
54 - Bible Vacation School; 50 - Film Showing 46 - House to house Evangelism

This ministry would not become possible without the divine guidance and intervention of the God Almighty. To Him be the glory. Special thanks to all who prayed and supported this ministry. God Bless you All!

18 New BFBC Members, Recognized

God is Good! Thereis nothing to fear about its contents because when a person has established a relationship with the Lord, he is assured of eternal and he will not experience the horrible things that will take place when the end times come. The club members appreciate the warm welcome made by the people in the said places and we are very thankful for the big big support extended to us by Ptr. & Mrs. Rodgie Lagtapon.
In Ranzo, Pinamalayan Oriental Mindoro, house to house evangelism was undertaken including the invitation to barangay folks to watch the free film showing. It was really amazing because after the film showing many raised their hands showing that they received the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. At the end of this mission trip Two Hundred Seventy Four (274) souls surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ. It came to existence since April 2006. This club was established for the purpose of discipling new believers in Christ.During the meeting there were thirteen (13 ) men of the church attended then later on its attendance increase to sixteen (16). The group meets regularly as early as 5:00 0' clock in the morning of Saturdays. Attending 2:7 Club meeting helped the members to know more about God as they study the Bible. Through this ministry the members were developed in the following areas: Scripture memorization, song leading, teaching the Word of God and also on how to share the Gospel to others.

As the years go by, and as the members grow faithfully in the Lord, this group of men realized the importance and the need of sharing the gospel. That's why as early of 2008, each of them committed themselves to join the missions program of the club. For the year2008, the 2:7 Club has already conducted four quarterly evangelism and the results were in deed great!. Among the places where the group visited were: Pola and Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro, Brgy. San Isidro, San Pablo City and Villa Amparo, Imus, Cavite.

Because of the good harvests and the joy of following the call of the Lord Jesus the club is committed to make missions as its regular program and ministry.(icv)
